Sweet Payton,
You're 3 Years Old!! I still can't believe you've been a part of our lives for 3 years now and yet I can't even remember what life was like before you were here with us! Mommy & Daddy love you so, so much! There have been so many changes from 2 years old to 3 years old. You moved to a big boy bed in June and our night time routine changed drastically after that! Night time is a rough, rough, time at our house now! We also got rid of your paci, I mean, you gave your pacis to the paci fairy so she could take them to other babies who needed them and you were such a brave guy! You've only ever asked about your paci a couple of times and it actually breaks my heart to have to tell you that no, you can't have them back now. And not long after the paci fairy came, you started using the potty! It took about 3 days, and you were good! You still need help to get your pants down and up but for the most part you can do everything else yourself! You are getting so big! I think Mommy is having a harder time with that than you are! The other day we were looking through your baby clothes and you about brought me to tears when you were talking about them and saying "when I get little I'll wear these". Oh Man, break my heart, you will never be little enough to wear those clothes again!
Everyone in our little family is learning as we go as you grow up. Some days are better than others. There have been very challenging days, days that I hope with all my heart that you won't remember when you get older! But there are also, sweet, beautiful days. Days where everything seems to fall into place, and I hope more than anything that you will remember those days! My heart just about explodes when you tell Mommy & Daddy that you love us or that you miss us when we go to work or give us hugs, unprompted. We definitely make mistakes everyday but we're trying! Above all else, I hope you always know that we love you and would pretty much do anything to keep you safe, happy and healthy! We have a few things to figure out but we'll get there!
