Like Father Like Son

Corey was feeding Payton the other night and I happened to look down and see this:

It was too sweet not to take a picture of!!  He is his Father's son!

Almost There!!

He's up...
One Arm going forward....
Try again...
Down again...
What's over there?...
One more time...

Not quite there but getting really close!!

Lesson Learned

I think the pictures speak for themselves!!

The poor guy had to ride all the way home from Cedar Rapids with nothing but his diaper on because Mommy & Daddy didn't remember to pack a change of clothes!  But he didn't mind a bit, he's happiest with no clothes on!!

6 Months

It's amazing how quickly these last 6 months have flown by. It seems like just yesterday we were picking out baby clothes and baby names and wondering what our baby would look like. Now he's here and I am finding it hard to remember what it was like when he was so small that I could hold him in one arm! I need to catch up so let's start at the beginning....

Payton Michael Lunkley was born on September 4th, 2009 and my life changed forever. Life no longer revolves around me instead everything I do revolves around him. He is the center of my Universe and I thank God everyday for this beautiful blessing! I really don't remember much from the first few months they all seem like a blur but I did manage to take some pictures. We used to call Payton our little squeaker because he used to randomly make this cute little squeaky noise; it sounded just like a little squeaker toy!

I went back to work in November. We are lucky that my sister Hillary lives across the street from us (she is going to school right now at the U of I) and she has rearranged her school schedule so that she can take care of Payton when I am at work. Of course, that can't always be possible so we also have a friend who takes care of him when Hillary is at school. Melanie has 2 little girls and Payton enjoys playing with them (or watchng them play)!

Payton's first Christmas was exciting but very busy! We visited Grandma & Grandpa Gatlin in Ottumwa and celebrated with all of his Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Then we visited Grandma & Grandpa Lunkley in Pella and celebrated with all of his Aunts, Uncles and Cousins there! He got so many toys that we had to come home and clear out our spare bedroom in order to make it into a toy room and he couldn't even play with them yet! These are my favorite pictures from December, 2009:

January, February and March have been typical Winter Months in Iowa, very, very, cold and lots of snow! We were inside a lot because it was just so cold out and we didn't want to get Payton out in it! I'm glad April is almost here and Springtime is almost here also, I just know that Payton is going to love playing outside! He is almost crawling now; he can get up on his knees but doesn't know where to go from there!
